Service Description
Further your coffee knowledge with SCA Foundation Brewing. This 1 day course will cover the origins of coffee and sensory implications. You'll explore alternative brew methods (i.e. V60, Aeropress, French Press...), basic extraction theory and will come away with the knowledge and confidence to brew better filter coffee. We recommend to do the SCA - Introduction to Coffee course prior to the SCA - Brewing Foundation course but this is not required. TOPICS: 1. Coffee Knowledge Arabica & Robusta Different processing methods Coffee storage 2. Brewing Methods and Equipment 3. Brewing Guidelines The 7 Essential Elements of Brewing Coffee-to-Water Ratio Grind Setting Brewing Time Water Temperature Brewing Turbulence Water Quality Filter Media 4. Brewing Process Percolation/Pour-over methods: V60, Bottomless Immersion method: Frenchpress Aeropress 5. Brew Analysis: Color, Aroma, Taste, Body 6. Maintenance Brewing Equipment DURATION - Training: 1 day of 7 hours (from 10.00 to 17.00) / Exam: 1,5 hours PARTICIPANTS - 3 to 6 EXAM – Written online and practical during the course INCLUDED - Notebook, Usage of machines and ingredients, Lunch LANGUAGE - The training will be held in English.
